India defeated England convincingly by a margin of 10 wickets as Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami rattled through the home team’s batting order and bundled them out for one of their lowest totals at 110 runs. Bumrah finished his spell with bowling figures of 6/19 while Shami scalped 3 wickets for 31. Four of the England batters Jason Roy, Joe Root, Ben Stokes and Liam Livingstone were dismissed for a duck.

Among England batters, only captain Jos Buttler managed to chip in with a significant contribution of 30 runs and later a 35-run partnership between David Willey & Brydon Carse helped the Three Lions reach the three-figure mark.

In response, India’s Rohit Sharma recorded another fifty-plus score and his unbeaten 114-run partnership with his opening partner Shikhar Dhawan helped the Men in Blue to a dominant win and take a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series.
