Cricket is a game that involves a luck factor to a certain extent and New Zealand’s Henry Nicholls surely was short of it in the third Test between England and New Zealand. The Kiwi batter got out to English spinner Jack Leach in the most bizarre way possible. Such was the dismissal that everyone on the ground including the umpires could not believe it.

Nicholls was looking in good touch and was playing his shots freely. The southpaw tried to take on spinner Jack Leach and succeeded to an extent as he timed his lofted straight drive pretty well on the second ball of the 56th over of the New Zealand first innings. The ball flew quickly off Nicholl’s bat but there came the biggest twist.

In spite of racing to the boundary, the ball ended in the hands of the mid-off fielder and Nicholls was adjudged out. This turn of events left everyone surprised including bowler Jack Leach who could not understand how the ball went to mid-off. He got a grip of the situation when he saw how the ball got deflected after hitting the non-striker’s bat and went straight towards Alex Lees who held on to an easy catch.

England dominating yet again!

The story has not changed much for the visitors in the 3rd Test as well. England are once again dominating New Zealand with the kiwi batters losing their wickets one after the other. Half of the New Zealand side is back in the pavilion with Stuart Broad and Jack Leach taking a brace each. Broad drew the first blood as he got Latham in the very first over of the NZ innings.

Broad’s wicket was backed by Jack Leach who got NZ’s second opener, Will Young, by trapping him in front of the sticks. The third wicket came in the form of captain Kane Williamson who was dismissed by Broad after a nice setup. Devon Conway was the fourth Kiwi batter to be dismissed as Jamie Overton got his maiden Test wicket and the fifth one was Nicholls with an unlucky dismissal.
