England have named a 16-man squad for the T20 tour of the Caribbean starting from 22nd January 2022. The squad includes two uncapped players. Notably, not a single player from the current Test squad participating in Ashes has been included. Former England cricketer Paul Collingwood will give his service as the head coach, with Marcus Trescothick acting as the assistant coach of the England side.

As per the ECB's release, uncapped left-arm pacers George Garton and David Payne have been included in a 16-strong squad. "With an aim to perform well in the T20 World Cup, scheduled to take place later next year in Australia, we have selected a strong squad with some serious batting power and a balanced bowling attack. The World Cup is less than a year away and there will be increased opportunities for the squad in the absence of those players who are with the Ashes squad,” said Paul Collingwood according to a Press Release.

The two uncapped players, George Garton, has been impressive in the inaugural edition of The Hundred this summer. David Payne was drafted into England’s squad for the one-day international series against Pakistan earlier this year but the 30-year-old didn't play any matches. However, this would be a good chance for the debutant to make his impression.

Recalling the time when Paul Collingwood led the team to win T20 World Cup in 2010, he added, "I have good memories winning a World Cup in Barbados and I’m really looking forward to going back there with this squad to face a very good West Indies who will test all aspects of our skills."
