The England T20 Blast cricket competition will now enter Day 9 which has as many as four matches lined up for the day. While two of these matches are from the North Group, the other two happen to be South Group games. The North Group matches include - Durham vs Lancashire and Derbyshire vs Northamptonshire - while the South Group matches are the ones set to be played between Middlesex, Gloucestershire and Surrey, Sussex.
As far as their current positions in the points tally are concerned, Durham have won two of their three matches so far and are fifth in the North Group rankings, Lancashire have three wins from their four matches and are placed second. In addition, Derbyshire have just a solitary win in their four matches and are lagging behind at the seventh place while Northamptonshire have lost all their matches and are at the bottom of the Group A standings.
In the South Group, both Middlesex and Gloucestershire have one win in three matches but Middlesex are at the bottom of the table owing to their disastrous net run rate of -1.082. Surrey and Sussex are at the top of the table with both teams yet to lose a game. However, Sussex edge out Surrey due to a superior net run rate.
