Indian pacers dominated day-1 of the Test match as they bundled out England for mere 183 runs. Bumrah and Thakur were too good for English batsmen as they both ended up picking 5 wickets in the last session of day-1. Shami also played a key role for India as he took the wickets of Dominic Sibley and Bairstow in the 2nd session. Only Joe Root provided some stability to the England batting lineup since the rest of the batting lineup failed to support him at the other end. Indian openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul started the 2nd innings on a decent note and they ended up posting a score of 21/0 at the end of day-1.
