In a shocking turn of events in the world of football, Erling Haaland's manager Mino Raiola has landed in Barcelona on Thursday. The 53-year-old super agent has made the visit to Spain to discuss a possible big-money move for Haaland to the Catalunya club in the upcoming summer-transfer window. Notably, Borussia Dortmund have made their intentions clear that they want to keep the star striker for one more season. The sporting director of the German club has also confirmed that they won’t sell the 20-year-old for less than €150m.
Haaland transfer saga takes a surprising turn
While it was earlier reported that Manchester City were the front-runners to secure the services of the Borussia Dortmund striker, it is believed that the bitter relationship between Mino Raiola and Pep Guardiola is possibly preventing the transfer.
While the other big clubs like Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United and PSG have all been linked, it seems like Barcelona are emerging as the preferred destination for the Norwegian prodigy.
Barcelona ahead in the race to sign Haaland
As per the reports, the initial talks in Barcelona on Thursday happened between agent Mino Raiola, Haaland's father and FCB's president Joan Laporta. The meeting was a positive one as the three of them discussed about the new Barcelona project. While the talks are not yet in advanced stage, Barcelona are certainly one step ahead in the race to secure the services of the star striker.
With Bayern Munich not willing to sign Haaland, it will be really interesting to see if clubs like Chelsea, PSG and Real Madrid make a move in the upcoming days. No matter what happens, the 20-year-old is certainly going to be the big talking point in the upcoming summer transfer window.
