The mobile cricket gaming genre is set for a major shake-up with ECricket, an upcoming AAA title from Bengaluru-based LightFury Games. Built using Unreal Engine 5 and designed with competitive esports in mind, the game promises console-quality visuals, realistic gameplay mechanics, and an extensive roster of licensed international cricketers.
From its expected release window to gameplay, graphics, supported devices, and esports ambitions, here's everything you need to know about eCricket.
What is ECricket?
ECricket is a mobile-first AAA cricket game developed by LightFury Games. Unlike traditional mobile cricket titles, the developers are focusing on realistic physics, strategic gameplay, and a live-service model that will receive regular updates after launch.
The project has attracted significant attention thanks to investments from several Indian cricketers, including MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Shreyas Iyer, Ravindra Jadeja, Tilak Varma, and Sai Sudharsan. The studio also secured $11 million in pre-Series A funding to accelerate development and support long-term live operations.

ECricket Release Date
LightFury Games has confirmed that eCricket is scheduled to launch on Android and iOS in late 2026. Before the official release, the developers are expected to roll out an early access/public beta, allowing registered players to experience the game and provide feedback.
According to the developers, more than 250,000 users have already registered for early access, highlighting the excitement surrounding the title. A PC and console version is also planned as part of a phased expansion around 2027โ28.
Supported Platforms and Mobile Compatibility
At launch, eCricket will be available on:
-
Android
-
iPhone (iOS)
One of the game's biggest technological highlights is its use of Amazon GameLift Streams, enabling gameplay at up to 1080p resolution and 60 FPS through cloud streaming. This allows even mid-range smartphones to run a visually demanding Unreal Engine 5 title without relying entirely on local hardware.
The developers are also aiming to support tablets, PCs, and even smart TVs through browser-based streaming technology.
Unreal Engine 5 Graphics
eCricket is powered by Unreal Engine 5, delivering one of the most visually ambitious cricket experiences on mobile.
Early gameplay demonstrations and fan previews have showcased:
-
Highly detailed stadium recreations
-
Realistic player models
-
Dynamic lighting
-
Improved pitch textures
-
Broadcast-style presentation
-
Lifelike match atmosphere
Players who attended the Super Fan Event praised the environmental detailing, with many describing it as the best-looking cricket game currently in development.
Gameplay Features
Rather than following an arcade-style approach, eCricket focuses on realism.
Some of the expected gameplay features include:
-
Physics-based batting and bowling
-
Strategic shot selection
-
Skill-based controls
-
Dynamic AI commentary
-
Live multiplayer matches
-
Ranked competitive mode

Progression-based player development

Broadcast-quality camera angles
Players who tested the early build noted that batting requires practice and timing, making the gameplay more rewarding than traditional tap-and-play cricket games. Although a few bugs were present during testing, the overall response remained overwhelmingly positive.
Licensed Players
One of eCricket's biggest strengths is its player roster.
Through partnerships with Winners Alliance and the World Cricketers' Association, the game will feature over 700 officially licensed professional cricketers from multiple cricket-playing nations.
Confirmed international stars include:
-
Chris Gayle
-
Joe Root
-
Ben Stokes
-
Kane Williamson
-
Pat Cummins
-
Andre Russell
Several Indian cricketers who have invested in the project are also expected to appear as playable characters.
Esports Focus
Unlike most existing cricket games, eCricket has been designed with competitive gaming in mind.
The developers plan to introduce:
-
Ranked online matchmaking
-
Real-time multiplayer
-
Live tournaments
-
Seasonal content
-
Esports competitions
This live-service approach aims to keep the game evolving with frequent updates instead of relying on one-time annual releases.
