The focus is about to turn to the Esports World Cup 2026, where PUBG Battlegrounds teams and groups are gearing up for an epic showdown. With 24 top-tier organizations in the mix, this tournament promises to be one of the most thrilling events in competitive battle royale gaming. Set to take place from July 21 to July 26, it boasts a staggering $2 million prize pool. This event is part of the larger Esports World Cup 2026, hosted in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Over seven weeks, the festival will feature a jaw-dropping $75 million prize pool spread across 25 tournaments, with PUBG standing out as one of the main attractions.

Teams have made their way into the competition through a combination of direct invitations and regional qualifiers. While some leading organizations earned their spots automatically, others fought their way through various events across the Americas, China, Korea, Europe, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. This system was crafted to ensure that the strongest teams from every major PUBG region come together for an unforgettable experience.

Group Stage to Grand Finals Path

The event kicks off with a Group Stage that includes all 24 teams. They’re split into three groups of eight, and they’ll face off in a round-robin format. This means we’ll see matchups like Group A against Group B, Group A against Group C, and Group B against Group C. Each of these pairings results in six matches, adding up to a total of 18 games. Every team will play 12 matches, and based on their points, we’ll figure out the standings. The top 16 teams will advance to the Grand Finals, while the other eight will be eliminated from the tournament.

Tournament Schedule and Match Dates

The game continues for six consecutive days. Group Stage matches are played from July 21 to July 23, and all 18 opening games take place in this duration. The Grand Finals will start from July 24 to July 26. The last day of the game will see the implementation of Smash Rule, which requires the team to first overcome a point target to be Match Point Eligible, and finally get the Chicken Dinner to win the game.
