Czech Republic and Denmark will be up against one another in a crunch Euro 2020 encounter this Saturday evening, with a place in the semifinals at stake for both the teams.
While Denmark secured a berth for themselves in the quarterfinals as they registered a dominant 4-0 win over Wales, the Czech Republic registered a 2-0 win over Netherlands and reached the quarterfinal stage of the European Championship this year.
The side will have Jan Boril available for selection after he served his suspension and could well be back in the starting XI. All key Czech players seem match fit for this game.
Yussuf Poulsen, Daniel Wass and Simon Kjaer are all expected to be available for selection after battling fitness concerns.
Although Denmark managed to somehow sneak their way through to the knockouts, they were mighty impressive in their performance against Wales in the round of 16. Meanwhile, Czech Republic have been amazing too, especially the way they performed against Netherlands. However, Danes look a slightly better balanced team than the Czech Republic. The Red and Whites won the European Championship in 1992, but they haven’t been at this stage of the tournament since 2004. All in all, another thriller awaits us at the Euros this Saturday.
Probable Starting XI
Vaclik, Coufal, Celustka, Kalas, Boril, Holes, Soucek, Masopust, Barak, Sevcik, Schick
Schmeichel, Christensen, Kjaer, Vestergaard, Wass, Hojbjerg, Delaney, Maehle, Braithwaite, Dolberg, Damsgaard
Goalkeeper: Vaclik, Schmeichel
Defenders: Maehle, Coufal, Christensen, Kalas
Midfielders: Hojbjerg, Soucek, Damsgaard, Holes
Forwards: Dolberg, Barak, Schick, Braithwaite
