In not the best advertisements for football and for the English Premier League, fans of the Everton football club have been accused of vandalising Anfield after their side's defeat to Liverpool in the Merseyside derby. The defeat was more heart-breaking for the Everton fans as it means that the Toffees are in danger of being relegated as they succumbed to a 2-0 loss on Sunday.

As far as the match is concerned, it was the second-half goals from Andy Robertson and Divock Origi which secured a victory for the Reds who are now just a solitary point away from Premier League leaders Manchester City.

After the match, several pictures have been shared on social media in which damage which has been caused at the Anfield is apparent. It is being alleged that this damage has been done by the fans of the losing side.

While the fans expressed their disappointment with this kind of behaviour, Everton boss Frank Lampard complained about the refereeing calls made in the match.

"It is a penalty in the second half. I don’t think you get them here," he said.

"If it is Mo Salah at the other end, you get a penalty. I have played in teams in the top half of the league, you get them," he added.
