Former MMA fighter Khabib Nurmagomedov stunned the whole world on October 24, 2020, as he announced his retirement from the sport. The 32-year-old defeated Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 to take his winning streak to 29 wins. While he would have certainly added a few more to the impressive tally, the Russian decided to make the big revelation. After the fight, Khabib said, “This is my last fight, there’s no way I’m going to be back without my father.”

Actually, he had a special relationship with his father who was also his coach and inspiration. Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov (Khabib's father), who always used to accompany his son for his bouts, unfortunately, lost his battle with COVID-19 last year. It led to Khabib hanging up his boots as he did not want to fight anymore without his father standing beside him.

Khabib's emotional post for his late father

As the 32-year-old remembered his father on July 3, 2021 (exactly a year after his death), he posted a heartwarming video of him feeding the horses. Khabib also penned down an emotional caption as he stated that everything is temporary in this world. He also advised everyone to perform good deeds because, in the end, nothing will be left except what we did in our lives.
