The F1 2022 season has finally kicked off in some style and the first qualification of the season came up with lot of surprises. It was a day dominated by Ferrari and Red Bull in Bahrain, with Mercedes continuing to struggle which was expected considering their performance in the practice sessions. As it turned out, the pole position for Sunday's race at Bahrain GP was taken by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc who put up a scintillating lap in Q3 on Saturday.
While Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz completed the top three, 7-time champion Lewis Hamilton had to settle for P5. In a shocking day for McLaren, Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo finished at P13 and P18, respectively. The surprise of the day was the duo of Haas' comeback boy Kevin Magnussen (P7) and Alfa Romeo's new signing Valterri Bottas (P6).

The Bahrain GP main race will take place on March 20 (Sunday) with the action kick off from IST 8:30 PM onwards. Fans can expect a crazy contest between Ferrari and Red Bull while everyone will be eager to see if Mercedes can pull off a comeback during the race.
