Red Bull’s Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez managed to pull off a double podium at the Imola Grand Prix. The Flying Dutchman took a late lead in the sprint race and since then has continued dominating the weekend. Verstappen had a blistering start to the main race with Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc tailing him through most of the race.

Like his fellow teammate, Sergio Perez also pushed his car to the limit as he was constantly behind Leclerc and took P2 in the nineteenth lap after pitting for medium tyres and then kept the Ferrari at bay. The Prancing Horse tried a different strategy in the 54th lap as Leclerc switched out the medium and took on soft tyres.

Unfortunately, this gamble didn’t pay off well as the Monegasque spun out at Variante Alta and hit the wall. The 24-year-old then fell back allowing Mclaren’s Lando Norris to take the third spot and secured an important podium. Leclerc ended the race at the sixth spot.

What are the changes in the Constructor’s & Driver’s standings?

After the Imola Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc continues to lead the Driver’s championship standings with 86 points. The winner of Imola, Max Verstappen is second with 59 points followed by his teammate Sergio Perez. Checo is third on the standings with 54 points. Whereas the second runner-up of Emilia Romagna, Lando Norris is at the sixth spot with 35 points.

Whereas in the Constructor’s championship Scuderia Ferrari is still leading the table with 124 points. While Red Bull jumped up to the second place after a double podium with 113 points. In third place is last year’s winner Mercedes with 77 points.
