Delhi Capitals beat Chennai Super Kings in a thriller to claim the top spot on the points table. After being put to bat first, CSK batsmen couldn’t counter-attack DC’s bowlers and were restricted to 136 in 20 overs. Ambati Rayudu was the top batsman for CSK with an unbeaten 55. The biggest disappointment for the Chennai side was their skipper MS Dhoni as he couldn’t accelerate the scoring rate and was dismissed on 18 off 27 balls. Notably, the CSK skipper didn’t hit a single boundary during his stay at the crease.

In reply, DC openers Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan provided a brisk start to the team but Deepak Chahar ended Shaw’s stay at the crease inside the powerplay. Shikhar Dhawan carried on and made a fine 39 off 35 balls to push the chase. However, a brilliant bowling display from Shardul Thakur in the middle-overs made the chase interesting as DC lost quick wickets.
