Ahead of the crucial encounter between Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders in Chennai, the fans were not really pleased with one thing about MI's playing XI. When Rohit Sharma confirmed during the toss that Quinton de Kock has replaced Chris Lynn for the match, the netizens expressed their disappointment on the same.

Why are fans angry with Lynn's exclusion?

The Aussie cricketer is one of the most explosive cricketers in the world and has had a very impressive career in IPL. Lynn was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 2 crore during 2020 auction, much to the excitement of fans. However, the 31-year-old did not even play a single game for the franchise last season. As IPL 2021 began and Quinton de Kock was still serving his quarantine period, the Aussie received his MI cap for the season opener against Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Lynn grabbed his opportunity with both hands as he played a superb knock of 49 runs from 35 deliveries on a difficult Chepauk wicket. The 31-year-old smashed four boundaries and three mammoth sixes to set up a solid platform for batsmen to follow. While he would have thought that he had done enough to secure his place in the next match, he was wrong as MI replaced him with Quinton de Kock as soon as the South African finished his quarantine.

With Mumbai playing against KKR on Tuesday, the fans wanted to see more of 'Lynnsanity' against his former team. This is why fans thought that despite an impressive debut, The Aussie was very unlucky to be dropped from the side. In addition to all this, de Kock could only manage to score 2 runs as fans expressed disappointment.

Check out the reaction of fans on Lynn's exclusion

With fans demanding MI to bring Lynn back in the next game, it is very unlikely that the franchise will do so. However, it will be interesting if the explosive cricketer gets another opportunity during the course of the tournament in case of any injury or unavailability of MI's overseas players.
