Ferrari have finally unveiled their much-anticipated SF21 during the car launch event for the upcoming season on Wednesday. While there were lot of talks about the new power unit, fans could see a visible change in the livery. Along with the traditional red color, Ferrari have also added a tinge of green giving the car a sensational look.

Sainz and Leclerc impressed with the new livery

Ferrari's drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc also gave their opinions about the new car livery. Reflecting on the fresh-looking colour, Lecrerc said, "I love it. The colour looks a little bit more dark as compared to last season and there is also this other shade of red in the back." Meanwhile, Sainz also talked about the surprise tinge of green colour to the livery. The duo added that it was an unexpected addition and confirmed that it was a last minute call.

Both the drivers also expressed their excitement of returning to tracks on Thursday, where they will do 10 laps each. The serious action begins on Friday during the Bahrain testing as they get set for the beginning of new season.

New SF21 faster on straights, claims Binotto

During the team launch event on February 26, team principal Mattia Binotto had told that the new SF21 will feature Ferrari's 066 power unit. He had also claimed that the new power unit had recovered quite a lot of speed on straights as compared to its predecessor (SF1000).

Notably, the Italian team had a horrific season in 2020 with both Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel struggling on the straights. The team eventually finished the constructors' championship at a disappointing 6th position, with only 131 points to their name.
