Adam Wharton, the England and Crystal Palace midfielder, has reportedly generated interest from Liverpool in regards to signing him in the upcoming winter transfer window in January 2026. Apart from that, Real Madrid and few other big clubs in Premier League and Europe are also keeping a keen eye on the 21-year-old, who has been one of the top performers for the London-based club in their recent rise, not only in England but also European competitions.
As per the report published in Football Insider with reference from the "Insider Track" podcast, while Liverpool are looking to sign Adam Wharton at the start of next year, Crystal Palace are not willing to lose him anytime soon. Oliver Glasner, the Crystal Palace manager, sees the youngster as a key component in his team for the remainder of the 2025-26 season, so a move for him is not likely, especially with his handling of Marc Guehi’s near exit to Liverpool earlier this month.

If the sources are to be believed, Crystal Palace could cash in big on Adam Wharton in case they really need to sell him, especially since he has a long-term contract with them until 2029. As per Mick Brown last week, the former Manchester United chief scout, the London-based club are going to reject any offers for Adam Wharton in the January transfer window, which is generally a time for consolidation for clubs.
He also alluded to how Crystal Palace handled the Marc Guehi’s transfer saga earlier this month, which could end up being the template in regards to Adam Wharton next year. Mick Brown stated, “We know how difficult Palace are to deal with, Liverpool found that out when they tried to sign Marc Guehi before Palace pulled the plug on that deal. They don’t want to lose Wharton, especially not in January because he would be a very difficult player for them to replace, so they’ll be doing everything they can to keep hold of him.”
“We know January is a difficult window to do big deals as well, so I don’t see anything happening in January,” he added.
