Manchester United is reportedly keen on parting ways with the Cameroonian international goalkeeper Andre Onana, and he could leave the club during the next transfer window if not earlier. He is already replaced by Altay Bayindir as first choice Manchester United goalkeeper, while the club have also signed another goalie Senne Lammens recently.

As per the report from TEAMTalk, the Saudi Arabian clubs are showing keen interest in buying the 29-year-old shot-stopper to play in the Saudi Pro League. The Cameroonian goalkeeper, signed by United from Inter Milan in 2023 for £47 million, has found it difficult to match his earlier performances, leading the club to weigh up the possibility of moving him on. With the Saudi Pro League becoming an attractive destination for European clubs to offload big-name players, it now stands out as a strong option for him.

Onana’s position at Old Trafford has become even more uncertain due to recent financial shifts. Following United’s failure to secure Champions League qualification last season, his wages were cut by 25 percent under a performance-related clause. Aiming to safeguard his long-term future, Onana requested a new deal, but new manager Ruben Amorim has made it clear the club is moving in another direction, effectively allowing the goalkeeper to consider options away from United.

Runen Amorim is looking to align his philosophy with the new goalkeeper

Amorim’s is planning to bring in a new goalkeeper for United who fits his tactical approach, with Onana’s patchy form and costly mistakes coming under the spotlight. The club responded by signing young Belgian keeper Senne Lammens. While Onana is widely regarded for his distribution skills, his inability to deliver in decisive moments has raised doubts. However, Saudi Arabian clubs with their strong financial backing, are looking to push its interest towards Andre with a lucrative escape route apart from Turkish clubs as well, since their transfer windows are currently open.

Besides Saudi Arabia, there are other clubs that are looking forward to bringing in European skilled players to make the team strong. With this, Onana's buyout looks interesting. With the January transfer window on the horizon, Onana’s future is still up in the air. For now, he faces a decision on his next move, with the Saudi Pro League emerging as a possible escape route for both the player and Manchester United.
