Rio Ngumoha, 17-year-old gem from England, plays as a left-winger for the Premier League defending champions Liverpool. The former Chelsea academy player joined Liverpool in the summer of 2024. He featured for Liverpool’s U18s, U19s and U21s in 2024-25 and was handed his senior debut by Arne Slot in an Emirates FA Cup tie with Accrington Stanley in January this year becoming the youngest player to ever start a match for Liverpool, 16 years 135 days old.
Until today, he has made a total of five senior appearances for the club, impressing everyone with his raw talent and fiery pace. Due to the value that he brings into the team, Liverpool FC have officially reached an agreement with Ngumoha and he has finally signed his first professional contract with Liverpool. However, there has been no official confirmation about the length of the 17-year-old’s new deal. Reportedly, Rio Ngumoha has signed a three-year contract with Liverpool worth around £52,000-per-year.

Ngumoha is set to become an integral part of Liverpool in the upcoming future, having already impressed Arne Slot in the few matches he has made an appearance for Liverpool. The most memorable appearance for the Liverpool fans will remain his debut in the Premier League in which he scored a 100th minute winner, guiding Liverpool to a last-gasp 3-2 victory against Newcastle United. All praises following the match, Liverpool manager Arne Slot stated that, "He's a player that can finish really well for his age. How firm his shot was, you don't see this often for a 16-year-old.”
Rio has also managed to earn a spot in the Champions League squad for Liverpool and made his European top flight debut against Atletico Madrid in which he came on as a substitute for the team. According to reports, the new contract has a major salary hike for the 17-year-old. It will be interesting to see if the English international can continue to be the match-winner for Liverpool in the coming future.
