Michael Vaughan IPL 2021 prediction

Former England cricketer Michael Vaughan is known for making some bold and exciting predictions before any major series or tournament. With the 14th edition of Indian Premier League just few hours away, the 46-year-old has revealed the names of the two franchises which he believes would be the possible champions in IPL 2021.

MI and SRH are two favourites for this season: Vaughan

The former England skipper opines that it is going to be a hat-trick of title victories for 5-time champions Mumbai Indians. He believes that only a bizarre loss of form could result in Rohit Sharma's side missing out this season. Vaughan also added that if that is the case, then David Warner's Sunrisers Hyderabad would be the team who might go on to become the champions.

However, the 46-year-old is not a perfectionist in this art as he seldom gets it tremendously wrong. After India had lost the first match against Australia last year, Vaughan had predicted that India will get whitewashed in the series. However, Ajinkya Rahane led the side to a thrilling 2-1 win later on.

Wasim Jaffer comes up with hilarious response

After getting a few further predictions wrong in the recently-concluded India-England series, Vaughan established his image as someone who doesn't get it right. Using an advantage of the same reputation, Punjab Kings head coach trolled the former England skipper with a hilarious meme, reflecting the fact that MI and SRH would be worried now since Vaughan has termed them as 'favourites'. Meanwhile, other franchises can now believe that they have an opportunity to win the title this season as Vaughan's predictions often ends in a completely opposite result.

It will be really interesting to see what happens with Vaughan's predictions this time around. While MI and SRH fans would be hoping for the same to come true, the other franchises would certainly be wishing that Vaughan's form with wrong guess continues and we get a new IPL champion in 2021.
