Former Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan tests positive for COVID-19

Former Indian all-rounder Yusuf Pathan has tested positive for COVID-19. The 38-year-old disclosed the news on Saturday evening following the results from his latest test. The news comes as a shock because Pathan played a pivotal innings for India Legends on Monday. The Baroda stalwart played a quickfire 62-run knock from 36 balls, and then scalped 2 wickets to fire India Legends to the title victory in the inaugural season of Road Safety World Series. Notably, he is the second player of the team to contract the virus. The first player to test positive for COVID-19 from India Legends squad was Sachin Tendulkar.

The senior Pathan brother updated about the situation through his official Twitter handle. He has also requested everyone who came in his contact to get tested for Coronavirus. Here is the tweet –

As seen in the tweet, the former Baroda all-rounder has quarantined himself after suffering mild symptoms. However, two players from the same squad testing positive will ring a few alarm bells for the organisers of the tournament. Moreover, other players from the Indian Legends squad might also be required to undergo the test.
