After a year of absence due to Covid-19, Formula 1 returns to Circuit of the America to host the US Grand Prix. Interestingly, the NBA’s 75th edition has also started this very week. To celebrate the two special occasions, NBA and Formula 1 have announced special promotion and content partnership ahead of US Grand Prix 2021. Wherein F1 cars will be seen in custom liveries representing all the 30 teams in the league, which will be revealed on NBA and F1 social handles.

Moreover, On October 21, majority of the Formula 1 race drivers will contest in a free throw challenge at NBA 75th Anniversary-themed basketball half-court within the Circuit of the Americas paddock. Furthermore, many NBA legends will be onsite to meet the drivers and provide them shooting tips to make the most free throws out of 10. As a result of the charity game, $20,000 will be up for grabs to be donated to the winner’s charity of choice.

Formula 1 and NBA to collaborate ahead of US Grand Prix 2021

As the NBA’s 75th season has been deemed as ‘NBA 75’, an elite of 75 greatest players of all time will be released from October 19. The season opener of the 2021-22 season saw Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Milwaukee Bucks lock horns against the Brooklyn Nets at the Fiserv Forum, where the ring ceremony took place.

During the season opener, AlphaTauri’s Pierre Gasly and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc were spotted alongside San Antonio Spurs’ legend Tony Parker.

On the other hand, the drama of the 2021 F1 season will finally head to Austin with the business end of the season fast approaching. Max Verstappen leads the Driver’s Champion by 6 points but still arch-rival Lewis Hamilton has been deemed as the favorite, given that the Mercedes ace has won 5 of the previous 8 races in the Unites States.

Having said that, the NBA’s 75th anniversary will be celebrated throughout the course of the 2021-22 season, the concerned ‘NBA75’ team is being selected by a blue-ribbon panel of both current and former players, media, general managers, coaches and franchise executives.
