Netherlands Women’s fast bowler Frederque Overdijk registered the best bowling figures in T20 cricket to help her side win their second game in the ICC T20 World Cup Europe Qualifiers on Thursday. Her feat came against France Women at the La Manga Club Top Ground, Murcia.

Before Overdijk, the record in women’s cricket was held by Nepal off-break bowler Anjali Chand. Her figures of 6-0 came against Maldives Women in the 2019 South Asian Games.

Before her, the record in T20 cricket was held by Dutch cricketer Colin Ackermann. In men’s cricket, although the record was registered by India’s Deepak Chahar against Bangladesh in 2019 in Nagpur.

Overdijk shines as Netherlands Women register easy win against France Women

Netherlands Women’s pacer Frederique Overdijk’s figure of 4-2-3-7 came on Thursday in the third match of the Women Europe Qualifiers. In her spell of four overs, Overdijk got rid of Tara Britton, Poppy McGeown, Thea Graham, Emmanuelle Brelivet, Tracy Rodriguez, Emma Chance and Maelle Cargouet to pave way for her world record.

Netherlands Women bowled out France Women for a paltry 33 in just 17.3 overs. In the 33 runs, 14 came off extras. However, Netherlands Women chased down the target with16.3 overs to spare, losing just a wicket of Silver Siegers.

The Netherlands side will next play Germany Women today at the La Manga Club Bottom Ground, Cartagena, Murcia.
