During England’s first innings against India in the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston, English fast bowler Stuart Board got into an altercation with on-field umpire Richard Kettleborough. Broad faced few bouncers during his stay at the crease.
The pacer evidently enquired about how many balls have been considered as bouncers for the over. After a short conversation, Richard Kettleborough scolded Broad and asked him to focus on his batting leave the officiating to the umpires.
A clip of umpire Kettleborough asking Stuart Broad to “get on with the batting and shut up” during the India vs England fifth Test at Edgbaston has now gone viral. In the video, Kettleborough was heard saying, “Let us do the umpiring and you do the batting, alright?”

Otherwise, you are going to get into trouble again. One for the over.” Broad, however, continued talking which wasn’t liked by the umpire Kettleborough. “Broady! Broady! Get on with the batting and shut up,” said the umpire.
The former England cricketer, Mark Ramprakash, talked about the incident and praised Richard Kettleborough. “I think that’s some blunt, honest feedback from Richard Kettleborough there, some good advice,” he told the BBC. “Although, Stuart Broad is a big fella [at] 6ft 5in. I think Richard Kettleborough is a very brave guy.”
