Uttar Pradesh and Lucknow Super Giants fast bowler, Mohsin Khan has been one of the finds of the 2022 IPL season. In the nine matches he played, he took 14 wickets with a brilliant economy rate of 5.96. Khan had an incredible stat from this year’s IPL season as he had the second-best economy behind Sunil Narine among bowlers who have bowled 30 overs or more.
Khan was picked at his base price of INR 20 lakh by the LSG in the auction, and his coach, Badruddin Siddiqui, who has also worked with Mohammed Shami has talked about how the young bowler can be one of the best all-rounders in the country.
While talking to a sports media outlet, Siddiqui said, “When the auction was going on, I was sitting with Shami in his farmhouse. He was picked, and so was Mohsin. And then, we were having a conversation about him. Shami told me, ‘If you just give me four months with him, I’ll make him India’s best all-rounder’. He is a very good batsman. And even KL Rahul said earlier that he has a good understanding of the game.”
“There can be many bowlers but you need to have a good understanding. You need to know what ball to use against which batsman. Today, Shami is a big bowler. But he is always ready to help the up and coming youngsters,” the coach added.
Will focus and keep doing it: Khan
Moshin Khan has also praised Shami for his support as they both practised together during the lockdown. While talking to TOI, he said “I spent a lot of time with Shami bhai during the Lockdown. A pitch was being made at his place and it was taking a lot of time, so initially, we worked a lot on our fitness. He kept telling me that these things (fitness) are very important and will come in handy later.”
“After that, woh jo jo batate they, mein karta gaya. Meine hamesha unki baat pe dhyan diya. I diligently did all the things bhaiya told them to do. Even in future, whatever he tells me to do, I will focus on that and keep doing it.
