Preview:

Canada is all set to renew their rivalry with the United States of America on Sunday as the neighbouring countries go head to head at the Gold Cup, facing each other at the Children's Mercy Park in Kansas City. Both the teams have already secured a place in the quarter-finals with Canada registering a 4-1 win in their second game while Americans managing an even more dominant 6-1 victory over Martinique.

Team News:

USA

Reggie Canon had to sit out of USA's last game owing to a hamstring injury and remains a doubtful starter for this match. Moreover, Pual Arora also missed the game. Cristian Roldan, Busio, Hoppe and Williamson earned their first international assists and could retain a place.

Canada

As far as Canada are concerned, Cyle Larin has taken his game to the next level in the absence of Jonathan David and Alphonso Davies and it would be interesting to see the XI they go ahead with especially when most players who have been trusted with the job have done well.

Analysis:

The contest is being built up as one which could be the most evenly contested matches between America and Canada in recent times. Although it would be fair to say that the USA look strong on the defence, also having the arsenal in their attack.

On the other hand, Canada have dominated their opponents in their two group matches so far but need to make changes to avoid conceding a goal since the margin of error against USA could be very minimum as they have scored 14 goals in their last four matches. Advantage to USA ahead of the match.

Probable Starting XI:

USA:

Turner, Robinson, Sands, Zimmerman, Vines, Bello, Lletget, Busio, Lewis, Zardes, Dike

Canada:

Crepeau, Miller, Vitoria, Henry, Buchanan, Kaye, Eustaquio, Osorio, Fraser, Larin, Akinola

Best 14:

Goalkeepers: Crepeau

Defenders: Robinson, Sands, Zimmerman, Vitoria, Henry

Midfielders: Bello, Lletget, Busio, Eustaquio, Osorio

Forwards: Zardes, Dike, Akinola
