The male-dominated series Grand Theft Auto (GTA) can witness a change from the next edition of the game. GTA 6 is likely to get a female protagonist under its belt, which will be the first occasion in the history of the series. Furthermore, the centre of attraction will shift to Vice City, which is the fabricated version of Miami city.

GTA has been one of the finest games, which is available on the PC and consoles. The last edition, GTA V was released nine years ago (2013) and was the biggest hit for the creators, Rockstar Games. The online feature of the fifth edition was a boon to the gaming industry. Although the game is receiving regular updates, the fans have been eagerly waiting for the next iteration of the series.

According to the report by Bloomberg, along with the characters like CJ, Tommy Vercetti, Michael, Franklin, and Trevor, a female lead will be added to the newest edition. The woman is reportedly a Latina and will be influenced by the bank robbers, Bonnie and Clyde.

GTA 6 to be released in 2024?

The report also adds that the plan for GTA 6 was on the mind of creators since 2014. However, the loose schedule has kept the game quite away from breakthrough development. The lack of progress has also resulted in some designers leaving Rockstar’s Edinburgh office. Due to these reasons, the game is likely to be released in 2024.

The game’s map is said to focus on Miami, but new missions and cities will be added on a regular basis. The original plans of the creators have been to design a game, which is the biggest ever in the Grand Theft Auto series.

It is evident that Dan Houser, the co-founder of Rockstar Game left the company in 2020 due to creative differences. Hence, the GTA 6 is expected to have a different tone and feel to the game, as compared to its predecessors.
