15th August is always an extremely special day for all the Indians. The citizens of the nation celebrate and salute the sacrifices of all the people who played a key role in making the country an independent nation. It is a day when the entire population of 1.3 billion people sings the national anthem in unison and there is a feeling of patriotism throughout the country.

Amid the ongoing pandemic situation in India, the celebrations were always touted to happen this year in a slightly restricted way. However, this is where the social media helps everyone to enjoy the special occasion in a virtual way by being connected with each other. Famous Indian sports personalities wish the people every year through patriotic tweets on social media and this year, it was more special than ever before.

India celebrates 75th Independence Day

Indian sports fraternity never shies away from expressing their love for the country on this significant day. Just like every year, Twitter was flooded with 'Independence Day' posts all around as the nation completed 74 years of independence this year.

As soon as the clock struck 12 AM, India's sports fraternity and the netizens came together and left no stone unturned to begin the day with lots of love and patriotism for the country. Having represented the country across the globe in various events, it is usually a special day for the sports personalities as well as they get a chance to express their affection for the nation.

The same was on display on Sunday as India's sporting stars, IPL franchises and various other sports pages poured in wishes on India's 75th Independence Day and the fans acknowledged by liking and re-tweeting. Although it might be the virtual way of celebration, it didn't affect the intensity and passion as one could feel the sheer love and patriotism for the country behind those words and images. Jai Hind!
