The Indian Premier League 2022 is on in full swing and fans are now waiting eagerly to see the two new teams in action for the first time as IPL's new entrants Gujarat Titans will make their first appearance against another debutant side Lucknow Super Giants on Monday evening at the Wankhede Stadium.
Ahead of the highly anticipated match, Gujarat Titans (GT) shared a video on social media, where captains of both the teams, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul were seen having a candid chat. Notably, both the players are close friends and share a good bonding with each other. KL Rahul is one of the most loved cricketers in India. The opening batter has been a consistent performer in IPL and for Team India over the years. He has played many match defining innings for both India and Punjab Kings in the past years.
While Hardik Pandya has also been a key player for Team India and Mumbai Indians due to his all-round skills. However, Hardik Pandya hasn't bowled recently due to his persistent back issues. His absence in the bowling department was clearly evident as Team India struggled for decent bowling all-rounder in his absence.
In the video, Hardik and Rahul were hopeful about their team’s chances in IPL 2022 and wished each other best for the tournament. The duo also promised to exchange their jersey after the match between the two new teams on Monday.

It is to be noted that both the players also exchanged their jersey a few years back during IPL match between Kings XI Punjab and Mumbai Indians in 2018. KL Rahul had played blistering knock of 94 runs off just 60 balls in that match. But Punjab suffered a three-run defeat at the hands of Mumbai Indians.
