The Indian Premier League has become a massive phenomenon especially in the Indian subcontinent. Not only do the Indian fans and cricketers look forward to participating in the tournament but even the overseas players and cricket loving people are equally excited and looking forward for the T20 spectacle that the IPL brings with it. And now the latest buzz in the IPL circuit is the new player retention policy reported by a media organisation.

As per the new policy, which has not yet been formally announced by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), a franchise will be allowed to retain just four players based on the two conditions. They can keep either two overseas and as many domestic players or three domestic and one foreign cricketer in their team. Soon after a Times of India report shared these developments in the public domain, netizens began predicting the four players who could be retained by the five-time champions Mumbai Indians who have a lot of strong players in their side. Consequently, Hardik Pandya began to trend on Twitter.

While some believe that since Hardik no longer bowls his four overs regularly owing to his back problem and hence may not be the first choice for retention, many hope to continue to see the all-rounder in the Blue and Gold.
