Hardik Pandya may be absent on the field, but he is quite active on social media. The cricketer keeps sharing his life events across his social media handles and keeps creating buzz among his fans. With one such activity on his social media handles, Pandya left fans surprised. Pandya, who started his Indian Premier League journey with the Mumbai-based franchise in 2015 has unfollowed Mumbai Indians on social media ahead of the new season of IPL.
Pandya removed MI from his following list as he is no more a part of the squad. Notably, Pandya was released from the MI squad ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction after a 7-year-long association. Pandya’s action drove a lot of attention from fans. He received a mixed reaction from MI fans as Pandya unfollowed their team. While a few called him selfish, few MI fans started questioning his identity.

Rohit Sharma also not in Hardik’s following list
For those who don’t know, Pandya also does not follow Mumbai Indians’ captain Rohit Sharma on any social media platform. Hardik never followed Sharma while he follows many top Indian cricketers. He has MS Dhoni, Jasprit Bumrah, Virat Kohli, and others in his list but Rohit’s name is missing.
Pandya’s long association with Mumbai
Hardik Pandya’s cricketing career got a boost after he joined Mumbai Indians in 2015. He got a national call-up for his consistent performances for MI. This also helped him stay at the franchise for seven long years. However, his form and fitness took a dip after he inured his back and eventually, he lost his place in the MI squad. But over the years, Pandya has openly called out his love for the franchise and has called it his extended family.
Now, he will be representing a new franchise in the form of Gujarat Titans. Leaving Mumbai has actually worked well for him as he has now been given a leadership role which will bring out another dimension in him.
