Former Pakistan cricketer Salman Butt is of the opinion that India all-rounder Hardik Pandya's body has become so weak as a consequence of all the injuries that he has undergone that he cannot survive even by playing just one format.

Butt said that Hardik would need to start weight training and will have to follow a strict diet to get back to normalcy but noted that at the moment, the former Mumbai Indians all-rounder cannot even bowl 4 overs properly.

"Hardik Pandya’s body is so weak that he can’t even survive in a single format. He needs to put on some muscle by weight training and proper diet. Ravi Shastri recently said Pandya should go back and work hard so that he is able to bowl 4 overs. That means he can’t even bowl 4 overs properly at the moment," the 37-year-old said while speaking on his YouTube channel.

Recently, five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians had decided against retaining Hardik ahead of the 2022 mega auctions. In fact, neither he nor his elder brother was retained by the Mumbai Indians. Both of them have till now played all their franchise cricket for just one franchise- MI.

In an emotional social media post, Hardik had shared his best moments with the franchise through a series of pictures.

"My journey with @mipaltan. I’ll carry these memories with me for the rest of my life, I’ll carry these moments with me for the rest of my life. The friends I’ve made, the bonds that were formed, the people, the fans, I’ll always be grateful. I’ve grown not just as a player but as a person. I came here as a youngster with big dreams: we won together, we lost together, we fought together. Every moment with this team has a special place in my heart. They say all good things must end but @mipaltan will remain in my heart forever ❤️," he had written in a couple of tweets.

Reports have claimed that Hardik has made himself unavailable for selection for some time as he wants to work on his fitness to be able to bowl four overs along with batting on a regular basis.
