Pakistan winning the toss invited New Zealand to bat first and restricted them for 134/8 with help of brilliant bowling performance from Haris Rauf's four-wicket haul. Pakistan in the chase at one stage kept losing wickets at regular intervals but New Zealand bowlers failed to capitalize on those and let Pakistan win by 5 wickets with the help of Asif Ali's brilliant cameo which was well supported by Shoaib Malik.
