Quinton de Kock's brilliant fifty against RR

Mumbai Indians can heave a huge sigh of relief as their star opener Quinton de Kock finally returned to form after a surprisingly poor start in IPL 2021. After missing the first match of the season, the left-handed batsman replaced Chris Lynn in the side and could only manage to score 47 runs in the next 4 games at a disappointing average of 11.75. The South African cricketer was certainly under a lot of pressure coming into the contest against Rajasthan Royals on Thursday with fans demanding the franchise to get Lynn back in place of him.

However, as MI changed their venue from Chennai to Delhi, it also brought a change in fortunes for the South African cricketer. Chasing a target of 172 on Thursday, MI were in a state of bother after losing the wicket of Hitman early in their innings. However, Quinton de Kock showed his class and repaid the faith shown upon him by the franchise. The 28-year-old kept on attacking the RR bowlers and set a solid platform for the defending champions to register their third win of the season.
