Ayush Badoni has certainly forced cricket fans and pundits to take notice. In the 3 innings in the IPL so far, the youngster has impressed one and all with his skills against the best in the world. Badoni has managed 92 runs in the 3 innings, remaining unbeaten on one of the three occasions.
The right-handed batter has already registered a highest score of 54 and has been striking at a rate of 148.39 with a total of 7 fours and 5 sixes in the biggest T20 league in the world. While Lucknow Super Giants would consider themselves extremely lucky having bagged the 22-year-old for his base price of INR 20 Lakh, an old tweet by a user dating back to 2018 has surfaced on the internet.
In this tweet, in response to the post from IPL's official Twitter handle which confirmed that Badoni has gone unsold in the 2018 auctions, the user had predicted that Badoni will be the next big thing in the IPL.
"He is next AB. Plz IPL teams pick him. U missed real talent," the netizen had posted.

Fast forward to IPL 2022 and Badoni is already being considered by a few as the find of this year's tournament. A lot of credit in the scouting of Badoni has gone to Gautam Gambhir who is Lucknow Super Giants' mentor.
Even Badoni thanked the legendary batter for advising him to back his natural game. "Gautam bhaiya (brother) backed me a lot. He told me to play just my natural game. He told me you won't get the one-odd match, but you will get a proper run. He also told me, 'you don't need to play according to the situation. There are senior players to do that. You show us your natural game'," Badoni had said.
