Dinesh Karthik is on a mission to defy his age and many other possibilities surrounding his name in the IPL 2022. The wicketkeeper batter has been away from the national squad, but ever since he stepped in IPL 2022, his performance with the bat has forced the fans to demand his inclusion in Team India. Karthik has been rewarded with the Player of the Match award twice in six games and has been rescuing his side from mini-collapses in every other game.

His performance against Delhi Capitals was so good that the iconic Wankhede was buzzing with his name as spectators started chanting 'DK..DK' after he played an unbeaten knock of 66 in 34 balls. Cricket fans have started comparing DK with the RCB legend AB de Villiers and now the former RCB player has finally responded.

Speaking to VUSport Streaming ahead of RCB's game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), De Villiers stated that he was surprised to see Karthik's batting style. De Villiers said that Karthik had no cricket exposure in the last few months and was commentating in England before the second leg of IPL 2021.

“The form he is at this moment and he has already won RCB 2-3 games. He looks like he is in the form of his life. I don't know where that comes from because he hasn't played a lot of cricket. But man, he looks in good form and he plays around the wicket 360 degrees. He almost makes me feel like I want to go back and play some cricket again, watching him play. He gets me excited, plays under pressure in the middle order and he's got a lot of experience and if he keeps his form up there is a good chance that RCB are going a long way up," ABD said.
