Since the inception of the Indian Premier League (IPL), the legendary Indian cricketer MS Dhoni has been a terrific leader for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Under his captaincy, the team has reached a record number of 11 playoffs and secured 4 title victories.

However, ahead of the ongoing season, he had passed the baton to Ravindra Jadeja. But the all-rounder could not perform well under pressure and the team had only 2 wins in the first 8 league matches. In another development, Jadeja relinquished his captaincy, and Dhoni again came to the helm of CSK.

In the latest interaction, the former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar reckoned that no one can predict Dhoni’s moves, but expects the CSK captain to play for another season, before taking a final retirement. Akhtar also added that Dhoni can be a part of the management in the future as well.

“He is MS Dhoni. Can’t really predict what he does. He can do any odd stuff. He is known for doing that. He’s a great guy. We all love him and respect him. Personally, though, I reckon he will play another season before he calls it a day. Or again, he might be part of the management,” the former Pakistan fast bowler told Sportskeeda.

In his first game as a captain this season against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Dhoni was asked about his future with CSK by the commentator Danny Morrison. He had said, “You will definitely see me in the yellow jersey. Whether it is this yellow jersey, you will have to wait and watch.”

In a total of three matches under Dhoni’s leadership, CSK has been able to secure victories on two occasions and has played their brand of cricket, which they have been known for the last few editions. They are still in the race for the playoffs but have to win their remaining games with a good margin. In their next league game, they will face their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians on May 11 at Wankhede Stadium.
