Less than 10 days are left for the beginning of month-long highly-competitive Commonwealth Games 2022, and the hockey players along with fans are expecting to witness yet another successful outing. The enormous success at Tokyo Olympics has boosted the confidence of Indian men's hockey team as the squad is gearing up for another medal.
Preview:
The Indian team which won a historic Olympic bronze after a wait of 41-years, has made significant improvement under Australian Graham Reid. India's best result came in 2010 at home (New Delhi) when they were runner-up in Glasgow in 2014. After clinching bronze at Tokyo Olympics, players have maintained their top-performance at FIH's Pro League by finishing third behind Belgium and Netherland. Meanwhile, Women in Blue will hope to better their performance by clinching a podium finish after underwhelming showing at the 2022 World Cup.
