The wait is finally over. Gamers will soon have a chance to explore the wizarding world as Hogwarts Legacy is set to launch later this year. The developers have reportedly confirmed the game's release in 2022, stating that the game is set within the Wizarding World and will allow players to explore the Hogwarts of yesteryears. As per reports, gamers will be able to attend classes, learn new spells and fantastic tame beasts, and venture into the world beyond the walls of the iconic school.
While the information about the game was leaked in 2018, not many details have been released ever since. However, Hogwarts Legacy was officially unveiled in September 2020 at Sony's PS5 reveal event and State of Play dedicated to the game is set to treat the gamers this week (Thursday, March 17). While the game's showcase will take place on the PlayStation Twitch and YouTube channels this Thursday, here is all you need to know about the game.
Hogwarts Legacy release date?
Originally announced with a projected release date in 2021, Hogwarts Legacy was unceremoniously delayed into 2022 in January last year. While there were rumours that the roundabout release date may slip even further into 2023, Warner Media CEO Jason Kilar's recently stated that the objective is to release the game this year. While a companion art book, entitled "The Art and Making of Hogwarts Legacy," is reportedly scheduled to release on September 6, 2022, this could be an indication September 2022 could be the release date for the game as Harry Potter canon, September 1 is the date students journey on the Hogwarts Express to the iconic school for the start of a new year.

Hogwarts Legacy is not a PlayStation exclusive. The official Hogwarts Legacy website clearly lists the game's release platforms like PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC.

Hogwarts Legacy will get its own State of Play event on Thursday, March 16. This Livestream will begin at 2 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
