In one of the most high-profile transfers in this January window, Anthony Martial has joined Sevilla from Manchester United in a 6-month loan deal. The 26-year-old, who had only started two Premier League games for Red Devils this season, was pushing for a move away from the club to get some playing time.
His transfer to Spain could probably be the turning point in his career as he aims to get back into the spotlight. As he was presented as the player of Sevilla at the stadium, a special message was awaiting for Martial which indeed caught the footballer by surprise.

On the big screen appeared Brazilian legend Ronaldo (Martial's idol) who said, "Hi Martial, how are you? Welcome to La Liga and Sevilla! This is a big club in Spain and a big club in Europe. They have incredible fans and play in a fantastic city. So I wish you all the best, and hopefully, I’ll see you soon. Big hug, best of luck," leaving Martial a bit emotional.

Notably, it was indeed quite an exceptional moment for Martial who had revealed his love for Ronaldo few years back. "My two big heroes were both Brazilian: Ronaldinho and Ronaldo because they had magic in their feet!," he had told Man United's official website in 2018.
If the coach wants me to play, I can do it now: Martial
After joining Sevilla, Anthony Martial revealed that he has been training well in the last few months and he is all ready to play, right from word go.
“I’m ready to play... I have trained hard to be ready. If the coach wants me to play, I can do it now. My objective is to play, to help the team, to score goals, give assists. That’s my goal for these months," said Martial at his official presentation in Seville on Wednesday.
Sevilla are scheduled to play against Osasuna on Feb 6 (IST 1:30 AM) which could be the day when Martial makes his debut for the Spanish club in Laliga.
