Chennai Super Kings were crowned as champions of IPL 2021 recently in UAE, after they defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in grand finale of the tournament. The Yellow Army stunned everyone with their remarkable turnaround from previous season as they went on to lift their 4th IPL trophy. While they were the deserving champions on field, they are now winning everyone's hearts off the field as well.

As the franchise shared an image of the team celebrating with the trophy, there was something mysterious about the same. Notably, they morphed Sam Curran (who left for the UK after getting injured few days back) into the image beside Imran Tahir, in front of Moeen Ali. CSK captioned the post as, "How can we miss Kadaikutty ??."

The Englishman was expectedly touched by this heartwarming gesture from Chennai Super Kings as he commented, "Special, thank you ?." The Whistle Podu army showered love on him on his comment as well as Curran's comment has already receive more than 10k likes with around more than 100 comments in the reply with fans thanking the all-rounder for his services to the franchise.

Sam Curran suffered an injury after mixed season

The 23-year-old was an integral part of CSK's playing XI as he made 9 appearances in IPL 2021, taking 9 wickets. He failed to make much impact with the bat and was slightly expensive in few matches. But despite that, he was playing regularly for Dhoni's side before he suffered a lower back injury, which ruled him out of the tournament as well as the 2021 T20 World Cup.

West Indian allrounder Dominic Drakes was announced as Curran's replacement for remainder of the season and the youngster flew back home. But much to everyone's delight, the franchise did not forget their young star - Sam Curran who is famously known as Kadaikutty Singam (Youngest Lion) among CSK fans.
