The defending champions and four-time title holders have finally opened their account, registering their first win of ongoing IPL 2022. Yes, after four matches, the Yellow Army has registered their maiden win, and it came over former teammate led Faf du Plessis’ Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Brilliant batting display from Robin Uthappa & Shivam Dube helped the side post 216 on board batting first. It was Mahesh Theekshana’s four wicket haul and skipper Ravindra Jadeja’s 3/39 that later helped the side restrict RCB under the set target.

After the 22nd game of the tournament, Chennai Super Kings sit at the ninth place having won only one game. They have two points to their name with a net run-rate of -0.745. However, Royal Challengers Bangalore have won three matches and lost two out of their five games. They occupy the fifth place in the ten-team table with a net run-rate of 0.006.

I want to dedicate it to my wife: Ravindra Jadeja
After registering the first win of the tournament, CSK skipper Ravindra Jadeja did not shy from dedicating this win as a captain to his wife.
“First of all this is the first victory as captain and I would like to dedicate it to my wife”, he started with during the post-match presentation.
Jadeja also hailed the brilliant knocks of Uthappa & Dube. He also hailed MS Dhoni for his skills and tactics, quoting, “As a captain I still pick the seniors’ brain. Of course, Mahi bhai is there.”
However, it wasn’t an easy day for Faf against his old team. The RCB skipper hailed CSK’s spinners. The South Africa cricketer also spoke of Harshal Patel.
“You see the value of Harshal, and what he offers. He has the ability to stop the game. We missed that tonight,” he quoted during the post-match presentation.
