During the post-match interview, Dinesh Chandimal was elated with his performance as he batted through the innings and completed his double hundred. He stated: “Over the moon. If you're performing and team is winning, great feeling. Didn't have any plan at all. Just went there, wanted to be proactive, especially against the spinner. Wanted to rotate strike. Was a tough wicket in the first game. When I saw the wicket here, thought that the pitch is going to be good in the first three days.”

Chandimal then thanked his teammates and the staff for their constant support. He said: “Wanted to capitalise in that time. Thought that if we can get more than 100 lead, we could put them under pressure. Thanks to my family. There was lot of ups and downs. Was in the side, not in the side. But your family and wife is there. Teammates always give their support, the support-staff and fans all of them.”

Sri Lanka captain Dimuth Karunaratne also praised both the top performers. He mentioned: “Chandimal got 200, others supported well. First one spun a lot, that's why we had to do something else. Here we had to play normal cricket. Could've been 2-0, but boys bounced back hard. Debutants did amazing job. Prabath - knew from the beginning he will be key. It's a confidence boost for the Pakistan series. Just want to play the basics and our heart out.”
