The second phase of Indian Premier League 2021 season is set to resume in UAE and there is already a lot of buzz and excitement around the fans. Although the tournament did take place at the same three venues (Adu Dhabi, Dubai and Sharjah) last year as well, there is still a huge difference. The COVID-19 situation has improved across the globe and fans have started to enter the stadiums in various major events like US Open, Dutch GP, Premier League, etc.

It's been a rather different case in cricket as things have gone slightly slow as compared to other sports. However, things are finally coming back on track with crowd enjoying the recently-held Test series between India and England in the UK. Following in the footsteps, Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) had also assured that they were trying their best to ensure that the tournament won't be played behind closed doors like the way it was played in 2020.

The fans were eagerly waiting for the official announcement on the same and the good news finally came on Wednesday. "The VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 resumes with the five-time champions and current title holders Mumbai Indians taking on three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 19. This match will be a momentous occasion as IPL will welcome the fans back to the stadiums after a brief hiatus owing to Covid-19 situation," read an official statement.
