Although West Indies fast bowler Sheldon Cottrell has not been retained by his 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Punjab Kings for the 2021 season, he seems to be missing his former IPL team as is evident from his social media post. When an Australian cricket agent trolled him after he hit a last-ball six to help St Kitts & Nevis Patriots defeat Barbados Royals in a Caribbean Premier League match on September 2, the left-arm pacer reminded him of what happened at the Gabba, Brisbane earlier in the year.

His tweet was in Hindi as he responded, "Is my agent sledging me? Show me you an Aussie without telling me you an Aussie?! Arre yaar, Gabba bhool gayi kya? (Have you forgotten Gabba)."

Notably, Australia had lost the fourth and final Test match of the series at the Gabba in Brisbane in January 2021 after they failed to defend a total of 328 against India. When an Indian fan tagged Wasim Jaffer, the former India opener who is the batting coach of Punjab Kings,  and asked him if he had taught Cottrell how to troll, Cottrell responded with an epic tweet. Notably, Jaffer is known for sharing hilarious memes and one-liners to troll teams like England and Australia.

Cottrell responded: "Hum bowling pe itni koshish karte hai jitna Jaffar apne tweets pe karta hai. (I work on my bowling as much as Jaffer works on his tweets)."

Talking about the Caribbean Premier League, the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots are currently sitting at the top of the points table with 5 wins out of 7 matches. However, they have a negative net run rate of -0.548. Saint Lucia Kings, Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors complete the top four as of now. However, these teams have played six games each and have won four, three and three matches respectively. Knight Riders have the best net run rate of the lot which stands at an impressive +0.515.

Post the CPL final on September 15, IPL 2021 will resume in UAE on September 19. Some of the players from CPL will fly to the Middle East for the IPL before the T20 World Cup also slated to happen in that part of the world.
