Yuzvendra Chahal's quarantine period in the UAE has ended and he has joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad ahead of the second phase of IPL 2021. The 31-year-old was undoubtedly thrilled to be back as he, alongside Glenn Maxwell, were welcomed by RCB coach Mike Hesson and others with a huge round of applause.

The franchise released a video on Thursday which captured all the moments of Chahal and Maxwell from their first training session. The duo can be seen sharing some fun banter with each other, which does not come as a surprise for anyone. However, the fans wanted to know the state of mind of the leg-spinner following a tough few weeks that he had gone through having tested positive for COVID-19 in Sri Lanka before getting excluded from India's squad for 2021 T20 World Cup.

I am happy with the way I bowled: Chahal

Much to the delight of everyone, Chahal looked in a very positive frame of mind going into the remainder of IPL 2021 season. Reflecting on his return to cricket field after number of days in quarantine, he said, "Obviously, the feeling was good. The heat was okay, I am happy with the way I bowled. I am pumped up, we are in a good position in the points table and we have a very good chance to stay at the top of the table. When you bowl well in the nets, you always feel good."

The leg-spinner has not been in the best of form off late which was probably one of the factors in his exclusion from Indian side for the mega event. However, Chahal believed that things were finally coming in track for him and he was getting back into the rhythm. He looked very optimistic and confident as he added, "I can say that the old Yuzi is back."

Chahal will have a point to prove in UAE

After getting dropped from the Indian setup for the upcoming World Cup, Yuzvendra Chahal will certainly have a point to prove to everyone in second phase of IPL 2021. The leg-spinner had a disappointing campaign in first half when he could scalp only 4 wickets in 7 matches at an economy of 8.26. With pitches in UAE assisting the spinners, Chahal will be hoping for a remarkable turnaround in his form and fortunes as RCB aim to win their maiden IPL title this season.
