Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri is one man who never mince his words and often attracts a lot of limelight for being vocal and utterly honest. As Shastri is returning to what he loves the most - commentary, and will be part of Star Sports' Hindi panel during the 15th edition of IPL, he poured his heart out. He shared his honest opinion on some of the most crucial possibilities and takeaways from the IPL during a press conference organised by Star Sports.

While addressing the media, Shastri slammed the idea of the conflict of interest clause stated in justice Lodha's report, which prohibits any person associated with the coaching staff of the Team India from participating in the Indian Premier League in any capacity. He claimed that clause is completely stupid and makes no sense.

The former Indian coach blamed the cause for restricting him for five years to do commentary in IPL. Notably, this is not the first time Shastri has lashed out at the conflict of interest clause, and even after his tenure as India's head coach was ended, he suggested throwing the clause into a bin.

Shastri also believes that BCCI will closely monitor some youngsters who will lead their franchise and can be prospects for leading the national side in future. Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, who will be leading their respective franchise, have a tremendous opportunity to perform and strengthen their resume for the top post. Although Shastri seems highly impressed with Rohit's leadership style, the former coach claimed BCCI would be eying to groom future contenders.

Apart from Shastri, former CSK player Suresh Raina will also be seen doing the commentary during IPL 2022 after going unsold in auctions. Shastri even hailed Raina by calling him one of the greatest players to serve the tournament and termed his 87 runs in 25 balls against Punjab Kings on 30th May 2014 as one of the best innings in the cash-rich league.
