Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are two stalwarts of Indian cricket. Both are recognised amongst the greats of the game with Virat even being rated as the Greatest of All Time (GOAT) by some. However, in recent times Kohli has been far from his best. While he hasn't touched the triple-figure mark in international cricket since 2019, even the ongoing Indian Premier League hasn't been a great one for him so far.

Meanwhile, Rohit too hasn't had a great season in IPL, neither as a skipper nor as a batter. However, in contrast to Kohli, Rohit has looked in good nick during his stay at the wicket but has failed to make dominating scores. With several cricket pundits and experts expressing concern on the duo's form ahead of the T20 World Cup later this year, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has backed the two of them to get back to scoring loads of runs.

"They (Rohit and Kohli) are great players and I am sure they will get back in form. I hope they start scoring runs soon. I don’t know what is going on in Virat Kohli’s head but I am sure he will regain his form and get some good runs. He is a great player," Ganguly was quoted.

Ganguly, meanwhile, picked Umran Malik as the outstanding face of the tournament this season.

"Oh, it’s very interesting, I am watching [the IPL]. Any team can win and everyone is playing well. The two new teams – Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants – are doing well. Umran Malik’s bowling has been eye-catching. Umesh Yadav too has bowled well and so has Khaleel Ahmed. I would say Umran Malik has been the outstanding face of the league so far," the former India skipper said.
