With India’s final group match in the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli’s role as captain came to an end. Along with that, head coach Ravi Shastri’s tenure also came to a close. Talking about his journey as head coach with the team, Shastri termed it “fantastic” and said he wanted to make a difference which he did during his stint with the Virat Kohli-led side.

“It (journey) has been fantastic. When I took this job, I said in my mind I want to make a difference and I think I have. Sometimes in life, it’s not all about what you accomplish, it’s what you overcome,” Shastri said in the Star Sports show.

There were some reports that Ravi Shastri is likely to coach the Ahmedabad team in the IPL 2022. However, it seems the departing coach wants to return to commentary.

After the game, Ravi Shastri was asked about his plans post leaving the head coach post. To which, Shastri cheekily said that he will be most likely seen in the commentary box in the 5th Test match between India vs England, which is scheduled to happen in July next year.

“I might be commentating in the 5th match against England Test next year ", Shastri said while having a big laugh.

India’s next assignment is now against New Zealand, which is scheduled to start on November 17. Rohit Sharma is likely to lead the team in T20Is.
