Argentinian football star Lionel Messi recently revealed that he is unsure about his international career after the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Qatar. He disclosed that he will have to “reassess many things” after the tournament ends in December. The 35-year-old scored a scintillating goal against Venezuela in a 3-0 victory on Friday.

The PSG forward in a report by Athletic said, “I don’t know what I will do after the World Cup. I am thinking about what is coming. After Qatar, I will have to reassess many things.”

“It has been a while that I am happy here, since before winning the Copa. I am thankful for all this they make me feel every time I come to Argentina,” he continued.

And when asked about playing for his national team after the World Cup, he replied: “I don’t know, the truth is I don’t know. I think about what is coming, which is close, Ecuador (on Tuesday). The preparation matches in June and September. Let’s hope these go the best way possible. But for sure after the World Cup, many things will change.”

After the game, Argentina winger Angel Di Maria praised his teammates for their performance and also confessed that this could likely be the last match he would play for the La Albiceleste in his country. Di Maria also scored an incredible goal against Venezuela as he chipped a through ball from De Paul over three defenders from outside the box.

“I’m just going to say thank you for the enormous love received. I always dreamed of everything I experienced on this beautiful night. It was probably my last match in this shirt in Argentina. And to be able to say that it was a wonderful night is an understatement. Thank you, thank you and a thousand times thank you”, he said.

The first goal of the game was scored by Nicolas Gonzalez ten minutes before the first half as he smashed Rodrigo De Paul’s low cross from six meters out into the back of the net. The La Albiceleste will play Ecuador in their next game on Tuesday.
